The Logipix 15 MP camera designed by STP Ltd is a multi-megapixel security camera with the same price category as good quality analog cameras. With 15 Megapixel CMOS image sensors, Logipix delivers high detailed and sharp images. Logipix pictures contain 36 times more pixels than standard analog cameras. Due to the higher resolution the size of the viewing area is 6 times wider and higher than in the case of analogue cameras. This feature allows to use fewer cameras to surveillance the same sized area.
The Logipix D/N is qualified for the surveillance of outside areas or low-lighted places. In case of decreasing lighting the built-in IR filter is removed automatically in order to utilize the IR lights also.
The Logipix ABF has an auto back focusing module, which helps to produce perfectly focused image in all cases. The ABF module changes the position of the sensor so the Logipix does not need an expensive electrically focusable lens. The ABF function speeds up the installation and in this way it can decreases the installation cost. In the monitoring software the camera can be refocused in any time.
Of course, the drastic improvement in quality involves the increase of the picture-size as well. The Logi-zoom function and the JPEG2000- based flexible monitoring software allows to transmit multi-megapixel information in the same bandwidth as in case of analog systems.
The Logipix SATA has a built in NVR function. Up to 1 TByte 2.5” HDD can be attached to the camera, and without a centralised NVR the recording time can be several weeks.

The features of Logipix
The improvement in the picture quality in consumer electronics had an effect on security industry. There are several key factor that affect the spreading of the high resolution technology in the security applications. The first is the cost of the camera, the second is the required bandwidth of remote monitoring.
The main goal of developing Logipix was to meet the above requirements, which we could accomplish with the help of the latest microelectronics technology, the self developed application-specific digital signal processor and the JPEG2000 picture-compression method.
The JPEG2000 video compression standard was developed for high resolution pictures. One of the main features of this standard is the scalability. This means that you can scale the picture resolution without any complicated trans-coding procedure. It is particularly important in multi-megapixel systems. This feature allows the usage of this high resolution surveillance system over low bandwidth communication channel, like ADSL or GPRS/EDGE.
The Logipix has an optional built in NVR function. Up to 1TByte 2.5” HDD can be attached to the camera. The Logipix local NVR function and the centralized NVR can be used in parallel. In this way images are stored locally in full resolution at maximum FPS. The centralized NVR stores the images in lower resolution or FPS depending of the available bandwidth.
A low F numbered lenses are typically used in order to fully utilize the high resolution sensors. It is more and more difficult to focus the camera when the F number of lens is decreasing.
